Spend a night by lake Saimaa in an old Finnish log house full of history!

The main building at Niemilomat is a log house built in 1915. Iivo - the great grand father of the Niemilomat entrepreneur - brought the house logs from a nearby forest and carved them by hand. The main building was inhabited by the owner family until 1975, when it was left empty. In 1997 the grand parents of the entrepreneur renovated the house in a traditional way. In order to fill the empty space of a large building, the grandparents founded a B&B accommodation company.

A fun fact: The building carries a visible proof of the Finnish civil war of 1918 – there is a bullet hole on one of the log walls.

The upper floor of the main building comprises four double rooms that are available for booking. In the lobby there are two shared bathrooms with shower. The price includes breakfast, which is served downstairs in the atmospheric living room-kitchen combo. There isn’t a kitchen available in the main building, but there is a microwave oven, coffee machine, electric kettle and cutlery at a common use at the lobby upstairs. Every room also has a mini fridge.

Free wireless Wi-Fi is available in the main building and the rooms. Pets are not allowed in the main building.

In the summertime, guests may use the lakeside sauna and a barbeque place. There is also a rowing boat that can be used free of charge for a lake trip. B&B room price includes breakfast, bed linen and towels.

Niemilomat takes you in the midst of peace and quiet in the middle of nature. Niemilomat is located at a cape surrounded by lake Saimaa. Cape is what Niemilomat is also named after. Come enjoy the pure nature and an environment that is well taken care of.
